What a fantastic weekend in Los Angeles! On February 27th, Hollywood Domino & Bovet 1822 held a gala benefitting Artists for Peace and Justice at the Sunset Tower Hotel. Our star APJ supporters gathered before the Oscars and played dominoes to benefit the APJ to help build schools in Haiti. The evening was hosted  by Mr. Pascal Raffy of Bovet 1822, Maria Bello, Jon Hamm, Kevin Jonas and Hollywood Domino founder Daya Fernandez.

“Four years and one month ago, Haiti was hit by a massive earthquake,” said David Belle, APJ CEO,  in his opening remarks. “The power of which was equivalent to an atomic bomb.”APJ believes in long-term, sustainable impact through direct partnership with Haitian people.  In his discussions with the local Haitian community about how to promote enduring social change, “Their answer unanimously and unambiguously was education, education, education,”Belle said.

APJ works hard to keep getting bigger and better, growing and expanding to provide the best education possible for our students. Amazing donations like the $5 million dollars over the next five years promised by Bovet 1822 make our work possible!

Notable guests including Kate Beckinsale, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Omar Epps, Columbus Short, Rosario Dawson, Vanessa Hudgens, Adrien Brody, Nanzin Noniadi, and Moran Atias enjoyed a set by Rumer Willis and DJ Michelle Pesce. Thank you to all of our friends, supporters and sponsors who made our seventh annual charity soirée such a resounding  success. Looking forward to next year’s Oscar season already!
